So last week's episode was our funniest yet with by far the most laughs! I started with my Honest Check-in like I do with my Let's Be Honest groups members. I shared some true obersvations and stories that had Lana in stitches before we turned our attention to her own "stuck" situation. Lana, Get Unstuck and Get Going. Listen here on iTunes or Stitcher in case you missed it. For my locals friends, please see the attached "Ask the Rabbi" flyer that we refer to for a fantastic upcoming event.
Today we have another guest joining us, who reminds us that it's never too late to make the time and space to do what you most love. For 66 year old Susan Sussman, that's comedy! Cozzy's Comedy latest competition winner, will share some honest realities as a elder female comic preforming in a mostly younger male world. She will talk about some surprising experiences she has had as a result and also defining herself against her own brother's limelight. Last week we talked very frankly about paying attention to what intentions we have that are sitting in the backs of our minds. We spoke of Kelly Clarkson as an example. When she first graced the American Idol stage, she was "unmemorable" by many including Simon Cowell, that brutally honest judge we miss. By the time the contestants were whittled down to two, it was obvious to America who the shoe-in was. In the moment when Ryan Seacrest announced the new American Idol, Kelly stated her thoughts exactly in a later interview, "{Becoming a recognized singer} was always at the back of my mind, but I never thought it would be that big." The takeaway here, is that it was always in the back of her mind.
I also invited my listeners to take the free passion test found on my website here to hone in on and recall what it is that exactly sparks our enthusiasm. Also, we spoke about the simple truth quoted by T Harv Eker, "how you do anything is how you do everything, " I gave some personal examples of my own father's journey and habits as a self-made man, which began as a child of Iraqi Jewish immigrants arriving in a new foreign country with just the clothes off their backs. Listen to all of it here in case you missed it.(Always available on iTunesor Stitcher) So for today's topic, we are going to continue this conversation with a guest who ia actually struggling with finding her professional identity and feeling lost with how to manifest a career from all her passions and pursuits. Several weeks ago I was contacted by Fran Silverman, a wonderful talk-radio publistist, who asked if I wanted a multi layered gal name Frankie Picasso to come on my show. I said "sure," not realizing what a great guest was about to join me. The Unstoppable Frankie Picasso and I hit in off and we candidly discussed exactly what it takes when life literally and figuratively brings you down. Frankie was honest about what it took for her to bring herself and her life back together when she spent almost six months recuperating in the hospital from a motorcycle accident Listen Here in case you missed it.(Always available on iTunes or Stitcher) It's in the details, people: choosing opportunity over fear is what keeps you rising.
So for today's topic, we will be talking about what is in fact sitting in the back of our minds andis it perpetuating us in the direction we want to go. Do you even know your passion anymore? So last week was my first episode going solo on the LEt's Be Honest radio show. Not having Lana, or another guest, there to converse with was certainly...different. The experience of speaking alone, out loud for almost fifteen minutes was a first for me. In this recent episode suitably titled: What Are You Afraid Of?, I spoke about this irony that the achievements in life we most want, may in fact be what we also most fear. So what can we do about it? Listen here in case you missed it (Always available on iTunes or Stitcher)
Today we will take this topic even further as we are in for real treat with my guest The Unstoppable Frankie Picasso. Frankie Picasso is a Solution Specialist, a Certified Life, Business and Master Coach Trainer who specializes in the Impossible!!! About seven years ago, Frankie barely lived through a horrific motorcycle accident where she sustained major injury and spent the next five and a half months in the hospital, and while recuperating, suffered through many losses, both physical and emotional. Life as she knew it, was stripped away, one painful piece at a time. To combat depression and pain, Frankie picked up her laptop and worked toward an online certificate in coaching, all while keeping a positive outlook and a fierce determination that all would be OK! Today, Frankie lives with chronic pain but doesn’t let that stop her from living life as one big Mission Unstoppable! Her book is Midlife Mojo: How to get through the midlife crisis and emerge as your true self (iUniverse 2008). Her most recent is No Bull Allowed- How to Lose the Losers and Lasso in Love (Amazon Kindle 2011). “I believe that often we bring limited thinking and negativity to problem solving. There are always solutions but sometimes they call for a bit more effort, knowledge and creative thinking than we are willing or able to expend”, Frankie says. Frankie loves to work with entrepreneurs, small businesses, individuals and corporations to create an atmosphere of unlimited possibilities. She specializes in the Impossible and champions anyone to turn their dreams, goals and desires into Unstoppable Outcomes. http://www.unstoppablefrankiepicasso.com The other cool thing she did is start this incredible radio and website platform called The Good Radio Network , which advocates "for a socially conscious world with purpose and drive till the end. She created a different landscape for activists and advocates where ACTION is what gets things done- in a good way!" There is a lot of awesome information and inspiration we will cover that will for sure help you get and stay motivated with your own life changing or world changing ideas. If Frankie can do it after hitting her ifetime low, then so can we. Tune in to the Let's Be Honest Show today at 3:00pm est. and Meet the Unstoppable Frankie Picasso! Love and Light, Danielle |
