Hello! Spring is finally here and it's my favorite season. There are blooms of change all around us and it is inspiring!
So, last week during our podcast on Relationships, with our special guest Dr. Christine Bacon, we talked about lessons to aspire from in the Story of Esther. Sometimes we need others to see in ourselves what maybe we can't yet see on our own. Listen or download Here, We also talked about the ultimate goals in a thriving marriage from Dr. Bacon's book, The Super Couple, which is to strive to be "selfless" in the relationship. But, how easy is it to be selfless, when our own cups maybe empty while our life/family plate is full? Join us today at 3:00pm with special guest, Anna Georges, as we discuss crucial ways to keep our own cups of creativity, fulfillment, and pleasure FULL so it is all the more easy to GIVE. Anna is a Mama, Performer, Younique Beauty Consultant and founder of Be Unique Movement- a social media movement that gives busy artistic women the strategies they need to do their art every day. HI Danielle,
Two weeks earlier we spoke about Unexpected Surprises: When Things Actually Go Our Way and Also When They Don't..Listen here. Then last week we spoke about what it feels like to be caught in a storm of OverWhelm: Mayday! Mayday! My Ship is Sinking. Listen Here. This is life friends. A week of high can follow a week of low and vice versa. There are ebbs and flows and cycles all around us all the time. The only thing constant in life is change. So what stabilizing forces are available that can help keep us grounded during all this evolution? Well, besides our own faith, we also have important relationships with the people we care about. Having strong, reliable and supportive relationships can be some of the best armor we have to combat a big life hurtle. The signifcance of relationships also ties in nicely with the Story of Esther found in both the Torah and the First Testament. Queen Esther faced some major challenges in her time and it was her faith, grace, and relationships that changed the course of history for the Jewish People and the nations that followed. We have our special guest Christine Beacon, joining us tomorrow on our Let's Be Honest Radio Show, who happens to be called "The Relationship Doctor" on her own radio show "Breakfast with Bacon." Dr. Bacon is a communication expert and owner of CMB Communication. She is an author, speaker, and trainer who has two decades of experience leading seminars on various topics from conflict, anger and stress management to her acclaimed Super Couple seminars which teach the science of extreme happiness in marriage. Bacon received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University and B.A. in Communication from Old Dominion University. Her doctoral dissertation merged marital humor and experience with her desire to teach individuals and couples how to build and nurture "Super" marriages. SHOUT OUT to my fabulous listeners who gave me yet another delightful UNEXPECTED surprise this week. Tune in to find out what ya'll did! Love and Light,
So often, we seek explanations for when things don't go our way, but also, when things do, are explanations as important? Or, can we just say "Who Hoo, and Thank You!"
I was inspired by an unanticipated delightful surprise from YOU, my own listeners and subscribers who almost overnight last week, qualified my "following" numbers to be considered for IHeartRadio, a huge music and podcast platform. That was fantastic! Also, another wonderful surprise, half of you listening are men! I love it! You gentlemen are clearly evolved because you know that understanding a female's perspective will only enhance your life and love:) We also spoke about surprises that happen, which are not delightful, but rather awful, scary, even tragic. I shared my personal story of our shock that happened after I had just given birth to our second daughter Aura, To our alarm, she was rushed to the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) for life-saving treatment and all we could do as parents was wait and pray. Out of that experience, I was asked by the medical staff to write a children's picture book that included education, resources, and supportive family exercises to enhance communication during this time of uncertainty for baby and family. Waiting For Emma: A Brother's Story (For Siblings and Families with Babies in the NICU) was created and this now multi-award winning and Amazon #1 best selling book is here to help even more families then before. I didn't know it at the time, but that was the "golden nugget" resulting from that unpredicted and scary experience. My beautiful, gregarious, daughter Aura is now five and this was just a minor blimp on our family timeline. Nevertheless, it was still life-changing.
Today I am inspired to talk about Finding the Compassion for Others When It's Not So Easy To Do So. As it goes, some of the most significant people in our lives can give us the greatest joy and inspiration and also the most difficult struggles and miserable pain.
How can we see others beyond the pain they cause, and why it does us good to do so? |
